Description- He Said Porter pours a deep midnight black with a frothy beige head that linger long and leaves a heavy lacing on the glass. The aroma explodes with roasted malts with hints of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, molasses all blend together with pumpkin spices the likes of nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice for an aroma that just can’t help but bring a smile to your face.  If the aroma made you smile than the taste will bring about a smirk that no one can knock from your face.  The roasted malts hit the palate first with a creamy subtle spice following suite that lingers long on the palate just waiting for the next sip.  The body of this beer is in the medium-full range with moderate carbonation, but a really creamy texture from this one makes it feel even fuller.   He Said Porter is another absolutely wonderful beer from 2 great breweries.

Food pairing – He Said porter makes a wonderful pairing with your next oyster dish with the pumpkin spices adding a great amount of complexity to the dish.  Also try this with spareribs, the caramelized meat will blend perfectly with the roasted malts and not let go.  For something really special, find your favorite ice cream, I recommend pumpkin pie or vanilla bean, and put a scoop or two into a glass and pour He Said Porter over it.  The creamy texture of the beer is enhanced from the ice cream and the spices play off of one another perfectly for an absolute flawless fall treat.

The Final Word – He Said porter is an absolutely stunning beer.  The pumpkin aroma and subtle spice taste in the beer only enhances a perfect Baltic porter.  This is a very well balanced beer that can easily be enjoyed on chilly fall evenings around a fireplace.  The fact that this beer comes in 4 packs with He Said Tripel truly makes it one of the best 4 packs that can be currently bought right now.  If you are a fan of porters at all do yourself a favor and get this beer and enjoy every last drop of it!
